Crystal Dawn meets

When she’s not out hunting rogue vampires and werewolves, you can find Crystal Dawn out exploring the galaxy. She can do it all without ever leaving her computer. She kicks ass, takes names, and puts it all down for the enjoyment of her readers. At least that’s what I think she told me.

Writing came as a natural outlet for her overly creative mind. The start of her stories is the easy part. Finishing them is a little harder when all the stories are in there trying to get out.

She loves reading, chocolate, fine sweet wine, and traveling among a large list of pursuits. Her favorite people, after her family and close friends, are her readers who she says are some of the most wonderful people in this galaxy and the next.

We were able to chat with Crystal to find out some more…

Hey Crystal, thank you for chatting with me today. I’m keen to find out more about you and your writing. How long have you been creating stories?

Crystal: I’ve written something since I was a kid, but to sit down and write a complete story, that was something else entirely. I didn’t do that until 2012 and it was published in 2013.

What’s is really like, being an author?

Crystal: It’s passionate, challenging, and occasionally frustrating. You have to love it because it can be easy to get distracted. As a published author, it a battle each day between promoting and writing.

How and where do you find inspiration for your stories?

Crystal: Everything and anything can be inspiration for a story. Surprisingly, life often provides inspiration in everyday occurrences. Some characters, most in fact, are loosely based on those I meet, see, or hear about in real life. Some of the people I’ve known in the past were so colorful, I couldn’t imagine anyone more entertaining.

We’d certainly love to meet some of them too!

Your book “Tanya” is part of a huge collection featured on that are all available for free. Can you tell us a bit about it?

Crystal: It’s a fantasy based on a girl who saw something she shouldn’t have and sets out to escape the bad guys. Her family sends a supernatural being to find her and protect her. She doesn’t know him so she runs from him to, but eventually, he catches her.

It’s the first of a series. There is a second book, “Max”, and there will be others. They can be read separately because although they are about young women from the same family, their stories aren’t told in a way where one leads into the next. They just have the common theme of young women who are too adventurous for their own good.

Sounds great! So, are there any themes that run through your book, “Tanya”?

Crystal: Yes, I like happy endings. Sure, life is full of struggles and my characters have their share, but most of my books are romances or have romance in them. I believe they should end happily, at least for now.

What are your current writing plans?

Crystal: I’m always writing something new. I generally have a handful of books going at any given time. Before the end of June/July, I hope to have book ten in “The Legend of the White Werewolf” series completed and published. Tanya’s series is a spin off of this series.

We love a good series that we can get our teeth into! It’s good to know that there’s a linked series that’s already out there too!

Aside from being featured in our free collection, where else can readers find you and your books?

Crystal: There’s loads of ways to find me and my books. You’ll find my books on Amazon, Smashwords, Kobo, B&N and iBooks. Here are some other links to find out more about me and my work:
