David Neth talks to GeektasticBooks.com

David Neth is the author of the Under the Moon series and other stories. He lives in Batavia, NY, where he dreams of a successful publishing career and opening his own bookstore. We met with him for a chat about books, 90s TV and what a typical day looks like for him.

So, David, first off thank you for chatting with us today! We really appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule. From what we’ve heard, you’re a pretty busy guy.

David: Yeah, I have a day job, so a lot of my writing time comes from moments I can steal away from my day. Lots of evenings and weekends. I’m fortunate that I have Fridays off from my day job, so I get to use those days as strictly publishing days. I’ve been writing for almost 14 years and have been publishing for two years.

So how do you fit it all in? Is there such a thing as a typical day for you?

David: Well, it depends on the project I’m working on. Right now I’m writing the second book in my new series, so Friday mornings are spent writing. After that, I might be doing a formatting job or working on some other odds and ends task for my own books.

Your book, The Full Moon is part of our massive collection of books that are available for free right now. Can you tell us a little about it?

David: The Under the Moon series is similar to the show Charmed. The witches live among the real world and fight off evil while still trying to juggle their regular lives.

David: The Full Moon specifically is about a woman who usually fights off evil with her sister, but she meets a man she falls in love with very quickly and he lures her to the dark side.

We loved Charmed! That definitely sounds like something we’d really enjoy reading. Tell us a bit more about the wider series, please!

The Full Moon is the first book in the Under the Moon series. The other books focus on the whole family. The Full Moon is primarily Kathy’s story, The Harvest Moon is Holly’s story, The Blood Moon is Josh and Chris’s story, and The Crescent Moon and The Blue Moon juggle all four characters.

What are you working on at the moment?

David: I’m working on my next series, which will be superhero fiction. The series is called The Shocker and the first book is Origin. I should be wrapping up edits in June 2017 and have it up for preorder by July or August 2017 with an October 2017 release date. Books 2 and 3 in that series should follow in early 2018.

That’s definitely something for readers to look forward to. Apart from our site, where else can readers find out more about you and your books?

David: I publish my books wide, meaning they’re available on a range of sites: Amazon, Nook, Kobo, iBooks, Google Play, Smashwords, etc. There’s a full list on my website DavidNethBooks.com

Thank you David, we’ll be checking out The Full Moon which is available, for free, here.
